6.00% sales tax; no separate local sales tax. Per the DC Office of Tax and Revenue, the general rate remains 6.0% through Sept 30, 2026 (the previously planned Oct 1, 2025 step to 6.5% was cancelled by the Sales Tax Increase Delay Amendment Act of 2025) and rises to 7.00% on Oct 1, 2026.
