Hawaii has no legal paid daily fantasy sports; the Attorney General treats it as gambling, which is a misdemeanor. Knowingly participating in any gambling activity is a misdemeanor (HRS 712-1223), and the Attorney General has concluded that paid daily fantasy sports is gambling under HRS 712-1220 — entry fees are "something of value," and DFS contests turn on chance and on future events outside players' control (Att'y Gen. Op. 16-1). No Hawaii law authorizes paid DFS.
