Restrictions are easing as the monsoon arrives, but they have not all gone away. The BLM rescinded ALL seasonal fire restrictions on July 23, 2026 for public lands in its Colorado River and Phoenix districts — BLM land in La Paz, Maricopa, southern Mohave, northern Pinal, western Pima, Yavapai and Yuma counties (and parts of Imperial and Riverside counties, CA, along the Colorado River). Other units (other BLM districts, national forests, State Trust land, tribal and county jurisdictions) set their own stage and may still be restricted, so check your exact area at wildlandfire.az.gov. ALWAYS PROHIBITED regardless of stage: fireworks and exploding targets on all BLM-managed land in Arizona. Where Stage II is in effect on State Trust land, campfires/charcoal (LPG stoves that shut off are OK on cleared ground), smoking outside a vehicle or building, discharging a firearm except on a lawful hunt, running an internal combustion engine, welding or open-flame torches, and explosives are all prohibited; land inside a city boundary is exempt unless the city says otherwise.
