Burn Bans
Burn bans change week to week.Track burn bans in the free LawLert iPhone app and it alerts you when one is imposed or lifted where you live or where you are. No account.Get the appNo statewide burn ban (one requires a Governor's proclamation — none active), and the annual state-forest spring restriction (fire rings prohibited Mar 1–May 25) is out of season, though state-forest fires are also barred whenever fire danger is high, very high or extreme. County burn bans of up to 30 days (extendable once by commissioners) can be enacted under Act 1995-52 at the district fire warden's request — check DCNR's live County Burn Bans map for any currently in place. County bans don't cover propane/gas stoves, charcoal grills or tobacco; campfires in designated campground fire rings remain allowed unless a state-lands ban says otherwise. DCNR's official County Burn Bans map, re-read October 1, 2026, states "No County-wide Burn Bans in Effect" and is stamped "as of 10/01/2026" (DCNR sets how fresh this is - re-check it before you burn); state-forest fire-ring restrictions can also be triggered when DCNR rates fire danger high or above, so check the current danger rating.
