The rule today

Arizona is now out of seasonal fire restrictions on federal land. BLM lifted its last seasonal order, the Arizona Strip District's Stage 1 restrictions (Fire Prevention Order AZ-ASD-2026-03, which had covered BLM land in Mohave and Coconino counties north of the Grand Canyon, including Vermilion Cliffs and Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monuments), on September 8, 2026. BLM had already lifted seasonal restrictions in Apache and Navajo counties on July 17, 2026 and in the Colorado River and Phoenix districts on July 22, 2026. All 6 national forests in Arizona (Apache-Sitgreaves, Coconino, Coronado, Kaibab, Prescott and Tonto) posted no seasonal fire restrictions on their alert pages at LawLert's last check. AREA RULES STILL APPLY year-round on the Coconino National Forest: camping and campfire restrictions are in effect around Flagstaff (Forest Order 03-04-08-26-02), in the area west of Sedona except within designated camping areas, in Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, at Kachina Village and Pumphouse Wash, and around Lake Mary, so check the Coconino's orders before lighting a campfire near those towns. ALWAYS PROHIBITED regardless of season: fireworks, exploding targets, sky lanterns, tracer ammunition and other incendiary devices on all BLM-managed land in Arizona under year-round Fire Prevention Order AZ910-2022-001, and target shooting and fireworks on Arizona State Trust Land at any time of year. Arizona's state fire agency (DFFM) did not return its restrictions page to our automated check, so confirm State Trust land with the State Land Department, and confirm counties, tribal land and city limits locally. Check your exact area at wildlandfire.az.gov.
