Conditional: Suppressors are legal in Alaska once they are registered with the federal government.

ConditionalVerified Jul 18, 2026

Suppressors are legal in Alaska once they are registered with the federal government. Under AS 11.61.200 a suppressor is a prohibited weapon, but registration under the National Firearms Act (NFA) is a statutory affirmative defense, so a properly registered suppressor is lawful. Hunting with one is legal.
