Info: Massachusetts has no current statutory duty to inform, and that is a recent change: the old G.L. c. 140 § 129C duty to exhibit the license on demand was struck by the 2024 gun-law overhaul (Chapter 135 of the Acts of 2024, effective October 2, 2024) and has not been re-enacted anywhere.

Massachusetts has no current statutory duty to inform, and that is a recent change: the old G.L. c. 140 § 129C duty to exhibit the license on demand was struck by the 2024 gun-law overhaul (Chapter 135 of the Acts of 2024, effective October 2, 2024) and has not been re-enacted anywhere. A License to Carry (LTC) is still required to carry at all (c. 269 § 10).
