New Jersey Suppressors & Silencers Laws (2026)
Restricted: Firearm silencers are banned for civilians in New Jersey.
RestrictedVerified Aug 2, 2026
Firearm silencers are banned for civilians in New Jersey. Under N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3(c), knowingly possessing one is a fourth-degree crime, and a tax stamp under the federal National Firearms Act (NFA) does not make a suppressor legal in New Jersey.
