Permitted: Consumer fireworks are legal statewide only when sold by a State Fire Marshal–permitted retailer, and any city or borough may regulate more strictly or ban them outright — Anchorage prohibits all fireworks, including sparklers, year-round (AS 18.72.020, 18.72.060; Anchorage Municipal Code 14.70.180).
