Walleye/sauger fishing rules in MT

Central District: 5 daily combined walleye/sauger; only 2 may be sauger; possession 10, only 4 may be sauger. Eastern District: 5 daily, 10 in possession combined walleye/sauger. Western District: walleye must be killed immediately, kept whole, reported to FWP within 24 hours (406-752-5501), and presented to an FWP office within 10 days — walleye are an invasive concern in most western waters. Exception: Clark Fork Reservoirs downstream of Thompson Falls Dam have different rules; check district exceptions.
