PROHIBITED
Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited and drug offences are treated very seriously. Do not carry narcotics or controlled substances — or anything that could be mistaken for illegal drugs — and never accept packages from others. Detection methods are sophisticated; trafficking convictions bring long prison terms (the UK FCDO cites 8 to 15 years), and Venezuelan prisons are among the harshest in the region.
