Burn Bans
Burn bans change week to week.Track burn bans in the free LawLert iPhone app and it alerts you when one is imposed or lifted where you live or where you are. No account.Get the appLouisiana has no statewide burn ban, but 20 of its 64 parishes are under a parish burn ban right now: Beauregard, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Catahoula, De Soto, Franklin, Grant, Lincoln, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Richland, Sabine, Union, Vernon, Webster, West Carroll and Winn. That list is read parish by parish from LDAF's own live burn-ban map layer, which was re-read October 1, 2026 and still carries a September 30, 2026 data stamp. The list is unchanged since the September 29, 2026 reading; Ouachita Parish (Monroe and West Monroe) was the most recent addition. Louisiana restricts burning parish by parish when fire risk rises, and parish or city rules may be stricter, so check the official LDAF burn-ban map for your own parish before you burn - the list changes as parish governments add and lift bans. Even where no ban applies, only vegetation and ordinary yard waste may legally be open-burned; plastics, tires, chemicals, shingles, wire and paper products are always illegal to burn (LDEQ).
