Louisiana Current Fire Restrictions (2026)

Conditional: Louisiana has no statewide burn ban, but 24 of its 64 parishes are under a parish burn ban right now: Acadia, Allen, Beauregard, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Calcasieu, Catahoula, De Soto, East Feliciana, Jefferson Davis, Lincoln, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, St. Helena, Tensas, Union, Vernon, Webster, West Carroll, West Feliciana and Winn.

Louisiana has no statewide burn ban, but 24 of its 64 parishes are under a parish burn ban right now: Acadia, Allen, Beauregard, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Calcasieu, Catahoula, De Soto, East Feliciana, Jefferson Davis, Lincoln, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, St. Helena, Tensas, Union, Vernon, Webster, West Carroll, West Feliciana and Winn. That list is read from LDAF's own live parish burn-ban map layer, last edited August 28, 2026, and it includes Caddo (Shreveport), Bossier and Calcasieu (Lake Charles). Louisiana restricts burning parish by parish when fire risk rises, and parish or city rules may be stricter, so check the official LDAF burn-ban map for your own parish before you burn — the list changes as parish governments add and lift bans. Even where no ban applies, only vegetation and ordinary yard waste may legally be open-burned; plastics, tires, chemicals, shingles, wire and paper products are always illegal to burn (LDEQ).
