No statewide or regional burn ban is in effect — the Florida Forest Service publishes one on its Current Wildfire Information page "if and when it becomes necessary," and none is posted (checked July 29, 2026). Florida burn bans are enacted COUNTY-BY-COUNTY and change week to week, triggered when a county's Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) crosses local thresholds; FFS warns that counties are not required to tell the state when they enact or lift a ban, so call your local city or county fire department to be sure. Fire season is still active: 2,907 wildfires burned 246,316 acres statewide Jan 1–Jul 26, 2026. FFS authorization is required for open burning beyond small yard-waste piles, and burning is barred during Red Flag Warnings.
