Kentucky Consumer Fireworks (2026)

Conditional: Consumer fireworks (including aerials) are legal to buy and use statewide, but you must be 18 or older, and fireworks may not be ignited within 200 feet of any structure, vehicle or other person (KRS 227.715(11)) — a rule that makes most residential lots too small to use them legally.

Consumer fireworks (including aerials) are legal to buy and use statewide, but you must be 18 or older, and fireworks may not be ignited within 200 feet of any structure, vehicle or other person (KRS 227.715(11)) — a rule that makes most residential lots too small to use them legally. Seasonal retailers may sell June 10–July 7 and December 26–January 4. Kentucky sets no statewide hours; cities and counties may enact stricter ordinances and state law defers to them.
