Consumer fireworks meeting CPSC/APA 87-1A standards are legal to possess and use statewide (RSMo 320.131). Seasonal retailers may sell only during the statutory "fireworks season" — June 20–July 10 and December 20–January 2 — while permitted annual retailers may sell year-round (320.106). There is no statewide restriction on discharge dates, but any city, town or village, and any charter county, may regulate or prohibit fireworks within its limits (320.121). Cherry bombs, M-80s, M-100s and M-1000s are banned outright (320.136). Violations are a class A misdemeanor; a 320.136 violation is a class D felony (320.161).
