Conditional: Consumer fireworks are legal statewide. Since 2025 (SB 199), seasonal retailers may sell June 20–July 7 and permanent brick-and-mortar retailers may sell year-round if registered annually with the State Fire Marshal (K.S.A. 31-502, 31-503).

Since 2025 (SB 199), seasonal retailers may sell June 20–July 7 and permanent brick-and-mortar retailers may sell year-round if registered annually with the State Fire Marshal (K.S.A. 31-502, 31-503). Bottle rockets and M-80s are illegal in Kansas, as is discharging fireworks on any public roadway, on or under a vehicle, within 50 feet of a fireworks stand, or at a gas station. Kansas sets no statewide discharge dates — cities and counties decide when and whether you may light them, so check the local ordinance.
