Only "permissible fireworks" (non-aerial, non-explosive) are legal statewide, and only where local law allows — many Colorado cities and counties ban all consumer fireworks. Municipalities and counties may impose further restrictions and prohibitions on sale, use and possession, and drought fire bans can prohibit use entirely (C.R.S. 24-33.5-2001, 24-33.5-2002(5), 24-33.5-2007).
