Fireworks

Only gold-labeled sparklers, novelty items (party poppers, snap pops, snakes) and non-aerial, non-explosive ground-based sparkling devices are legal statewide; aerial and explosive fireworks — firecrackers, Roman candles, bottle rockets, mortars — are banned. All fireworks are prohibited in Baltimore City, Montgomery County and Prince George's County, and ground-based sparkling devices are additionally prohibited in Ocean City, Harford County and Howard County (sparklers and novelties remain legal in those three). Discharging or possessing fireworks without a required permit is a citable offense ($250) with mandatory confiscation.
