Consumer fireworks are restricted to non-aerial ground/handheld sparkling devices and novelties; aerial and explosive consumer fireworks (firecrackers, Roman candles, bottle rockets, mortars) remain illegal statewide. A 2025 bill (H98) to legalize 1.4G fireworks failed in committee, so the long-standing rule is unchanged (GS 14-410/14-414).
