Consumer fireworks are legal to buy and use statewide (legal since July 1, 2015). Use is allowed any day from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and until 11:59 p.m. where no local noise ordinance prohibits it; on January 1, July 3, July 4 and December 31 use is allowed until 11:59 p.m., and until 1:00 a.m. on January 1 (O.C.G.A. § 25-10-2). A county or city may also ban use within 200 yards of a facility housing equines (HB 614, eff. July 1, 2025), and causing injury or property damage with fireworks is a separate offense (SB 417, 2024).
