Recreational cannabis is illegal in Georgia, which has a medical cannabis program only (formerly known as "low-THC oil"). SB 220 (signed May 12, 2026, with most provisions effective July 1, 2026) removed the 5% THC cap, set a 12,000 mg personal possession limit with a maximum of 1,200 mg per package, added inhalation and vaporization for patients 21 and older (smoking is still prohibited), and expanded the qualifying conditions to add lupus.
