No red-light cameras and no general speed cameras for local enforcement. The only authorized automated speed enforcement is INDOT's "Indiana Safe Zones" worksite speed-control pilot, authorized by House Enrolled Act 1015 and enacted July 1, 2023: up to four automated LiDAR/radar systems photograph the rear license plate of vehicles traveling 11 mph or more over the posted limit in highway worksites. Workers must be present for a violation to be valid, warning signs are posted entering and exiting the zone, and penalties are mailed to the registered owner.
