Restricted: Only sparklers and fountains are legal in Connecticut, and only for people 16 or older; all aerial or exploding devices — firecrackers, Roman candles, bottle rockets — plus novelties such as smoke bombs, party poppers and snakes remain illegal for consumers.

Only sparklers and fountains are legal in Connecticut, and only for people 16 or older; all aerial or exploding devices — firecrackers, Roman candles, bottle rockets — plus novelties such as smoke bombs, party poppers and snakes remain illegal for consumers. Legal sparklers and fountains must be non-explosive, non-aerial and no more than 100 g of pyrotechnic mixture. Most fireworks violations are a class C misdemeanor: up to 3 months, $500, or both.
