In Michigan, use is year-round under state law, but local ordinances may restrict the hours. By statute, local governments cannot ban use on certain days, including December 31 (through 1 a.m. on January 1), the Saturday and Sunday before Memorial Day, June 29 to July 4, July 5 when it falls on a Friday or Saturday, and the Saturday and Sunday before Labor Day.
