Conditional: Consumer fireworks (1.4G, meeting CPSC standards) are legal statewide, but retail sale is allowed only June 24–July 5 and December 29–31 (MCA 50-37-106); there is no statewide restriction on use dates.

Consumer fireworks (1.4G, meeting CPSC standards) are legal statewide, but retail sale is allowed only June 24–July 5 and December 29–31 (MCA 50-37-106); there is no statewide restriction on use dates. Discharge is banned inside any state forest, state park or state recreation area, within 100 feet of a fireworks retailer, from, inside or toward a motor vehicle, and near people or animals in a way likely to risk injury (50-37-103). Any city or town may regulate or prohibit sale and use within its limits (7-33-4206). Violations are a misdemeanor: $100–$500 and/or 30 days–6 months (50-37-110).
