CONDITIONAL
Do not assume a walkie-talkie, ham radio or signal booster can just come into Thailand in your bag. Thai Customs lists communication radio devices and telecommunications equipment as restricted goods: importing or exporting them is allowed only with a permit from the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), and that permit must be presented during customs formalities. Ordinary phones and laptops are not named on the restricted list.
