Info: When approaching a stopped emergency, recovery or repair vehicle displaying flashing emergency/hazard lights: if reasonably safe, move to a lane not adjacent to it and slow to a reasonable and prudent speed; if not safe to change lanes, slow to a reasonable and prudent speed, proceed with caution and be prepared to stop.

When approaching a stopped emergency, recovery or repair vehicle displaying flashing emergency/hazard lights: if reasonably safe, move to a lane not adjacent to it and slow to a reasonable and prudent speed; if not safe to change lanes, slow to a reasonable and prudent speed, proceed with caution and be prepared to stop. For an approaching (moving) emergency vehicle with lights/siren, pull parallel to the right edge clear of intersections and stop until it passes (NMSA 66-7-332, as amended by 2017 S.B. 76).
