Pillen's 2026 emergency burn ban (which suspended permitting) was rescinded by Executive Order 26-10 effective April 2, 2026, and no burn-related executive order has been issued since — confirmed Aug 31, 2026 against the Governor's official executive-order register, which runs through EO 26-18 (Aug 12, 2026) — so local chiefs again issue open-burn permits. Counties and fire districts can impose local bans, permits are commonly suspended on red-flag/critical fire-weather days, and state parks may enforce temporary campfire bans. Check with your local fire department or the State Fire Marshal before burning.
