Permitted: Nebraska has had permitless carry, also called constitutional carry, since September 2, 2023 for anyone 21 and older who is not a prohibited person ("minor" means under 21; those 18 to 20 only if an armed-forces member or peace officer).

Optional shall-issue permits are available at 21 and older.
Effective July 18, 2026 (LB 1237): weapons are banned inside the Nebraska State Capitol; carrying a concealed handgun there requires a valid Concealed Handgun Permit — permitless carry does not apply in the Capitol.
