Rewritten July 1, 2024 (S.B. 352 / Act 611): the old ±2-inch-from-factory rule was repealed. Now unlawful to alter any motor vehicle's suspension so frame height exceeds 27 in (GVWR ≤4,500 lb), 30 in (4,501–7,500 lb) or 31 in (7,501–14,000 lb), measured street to lowest frame point. "Squatted" setups banned: for 4,000–7,000 lb GVWR vehicles the front frame height may not be more than 4 in above or below the rear. Broken suspension springs unlawful. Section does not apply to vehicles with a compliant electronic stability control system (FMVSS 126). Misdemeanor — OCGA 40-8-6.
